Brought my mom and sister out to lunch yesterday while we were visiting up north.

What I thought was going to be a nice visit turned into a very awkward situation.

My ex father-in-law was at the restaurant eating lunch.  I didn’t see him at first.  My mom saw him.

We sat near the window so that I didn’t even have to look at his creepy face.

He of course decided to stop and talk to me on the way out of the door.  Maybe he didn’t have ulterior motives.  But I knew he did.  I was tempted to tell him to keep walking but didn’t want to make an awkward situation worse.  He pressed me for information, where I live, work, etc.  I gave him minimal information.

My mom asked about my children.  I wish she hadn’t.  My mom said to him that she hasn’t seen her grand-kids in 5 years.  His answer “Oh Boy”.  That’s his catchphrase he always uses.  His answer to seem amazed at something he really doesn’t care about at all.

I left the restaurant with a sick feeling in my stomach.  This is the “man” I knew for 19 years of my life who never once asked how I was doing through all of the divorce from his adulterous daughter.  The “man” I hadn’t seen in 2 1/2 years.  And now he wanted to talk to me like we were best-friends?  It made me sick.

Thankfully I am out of the long reach of that family.  6 hours away.  I will no longer be going anywhere near that town or the neighboring towns ever again.

Him and that entire family can enjoy their lives of crime on their own.  I want no part of any of it.  I don’t ever want to see any of them ever again.

On a side note, he somehow knew the approximate location of where I work.  Not sure how he got that information, probably from the Court (good job to them for giving privileged information to people).  To be sure, I blocked 40 people (criminal associates of my ex-wife) from LinkedIn and changed my profile to private.
